This project consists of an extension of the existing house to create a screened porch addition on the first floor and a master bedroom roof terrace on the second floor. The design is intended to be a modern addition while maintaining aesthetic semblance to the existing house.
The owner’s wish to create a space in which the outside is brought indoors is achieved by maximizing the use of screens and transitioning spaces with the same flooring from patio to screened porch. On the roof terrace level, the views are maintained by the use of a cable rail system.
During the colder months, the screen units can be replaced with storm panels units and a large gas fireplace brings warmth to the space.
